Improving my web 2.0 knowledge with Flickr...

Looking at other people's blog, I had noticed that actually showing a photo-stream of my pictures directly on my blog was something I liked more rather than just posting the link to Flickr.
So after the useful information I found reading Peter's post about Flickr and its benefit, I managed (after a little while I have to be honest..) to upload the video from Flickr.
I think it is way more striking than only having the link shown ...
So here it is.

1d: Flickr is ON !!!

Here is the photostreem I created with Flickr...after reading Amy's blog on how easy it had been creating one, I straight away started making one myself. I actually have more photos I want to put on but being away from my external drive (where I store thousands of my pictures) I couldn't upload all of them...but soon coming! Hope you enjoy peeking through them.

1a: My Professional CV

It doesn't look exactly how it should but I hope it gives the idea. I would appreciate any advise on how to improve my CV and if I should change anything...any criticism is welcome :)

Getting started with some of the web 2.0 tools...

First off all I have to admit that after my first post I got a bit "frozen" with my blog. Being in Tenerife on holiday (well..visiting my mum that lives here) certainly doesn't help, but also I got a bit overwhelmed and scared on how exactly I should have started. But receiving support from my tutor Paula and reading some other's new student's blog helped to just get on with it.
When I got approved into this course I was definitely happy to acknowledge that one of the main tools of my studying would have been writing a blog. I'm a blog fan and I did have already one, it's a traveling blog I created when I moved onto this new adventure on a cruise ship last year. I was gonna be away from home for 8 months and the phone connection at sea wasn't very good and also very expensive, luckily I got introduced from my roommate and good friend into blogging, something that she was already doing for her traveling as well (nicolebukoskey.wordpress.com/) so I decided to create a blog for my friends and family so that they could have followed me. I had a great response from them as they were totally new to this form of web tool (and so was I) and they were happy to be able to read my stories and live through them with me. But mainly I started it as a sort of diary for myself, to keep my experiences printed and always there for me to look at...a great way to storage my memories. Unfortunately it's written in Italian, but if you would like to have a peek through the photos of the many amazing places I've been to, or if you actually speak Italian then feel free! laury86.blogspot.com :)

So today I finally decided to look at the first new web tools I wasn't aware of that I found reading through the 'Web 2.0 Guide'.
First of, I changed my blog settings and appearance to make it more easy to read and navigate, after that I realized I hadn't been able to keep up with all the new posts of the people's blog I'm following so I had about 10 new posts I hadn't read yet. That's when I found the benefit of Google Reader, something I'd never used before and didn't even know about his existence. So now I'm finally linked to all my bloggers I follow and I will get notify every time someone will post something new. That way it will be easier reading other people's blogs without getting overload with interesting things to read and having to go to the blogs individually every time.

Another and the last thing I've added to my web knowledge today is the social booking site 'Delicious', a great way of storing and sharing bookmarks and informations with others and to access the sites valued by people with same interests. You can organize and tag you bookmarks so that navigate through the websites you prefer it's very easy and faster and also you can share your bookmarks with others and they can share theirs with you.
If you haven't done it I would advise you to add it simply following this link, you will only need a yahoo account or easily create one.
